Hello my friends! I'd like to welcome you to Moore Celtic Designs!
After a few glitches getting this all set up, I'm back and ready to go! (I'm not laptop fluent or savvy to say the least)
So, here's my first official update......
My newest painting involves imagery of the Grateful Dead, in particular the iconic 'Steal Your Face'. This is the second piece in an ongoing series.
I've loved the GD since the mid- eighties. From an artists perspective, the GD are hugely inspirational and not just from the music. They're a band that has dozens of iconic images and logos and whatnot that personally give me a plethora of ideas.
One day recently I thought...."What IF.....I combined some GD imagery with my Celtic art? That would be interesting to say the least......" I discovered that it was the perfect marriage.
Currently listening to .....GD Philadelphia 7/7/89
The poster art of the late 60s/ early 70s are a major influence for me, especially the art of Rick Griffin and Stanley Mouse. Those guys were unbelievable. Their work was incredibly detailed, but loose at the same time. Rick did a few album covers for the Dead (correct me if I'm wrong!) including Aoxomoxoa.
In my teens, I drew probably hundreds of pieces inspired by the Dead, Led Zeppelin, Rush, you name it!
I consider my art a journey. Each painting I create is a stepping stone to the next one and I learn a lot from each one......what works, what doesn't, what feels right or not, etc......
Welcome to the journey! Cheers and CEAD MILE FAILTE!
(A hundred thousand welcomes)
I'm so very proud of you & all your talents. Love, Rockmom
